Children of the Word Expectations

• Children will recite memorized scriptures before a panel. They are to identify where the scripture is found and recite the scripture.
• Parents must list scriptures when they submit online registration and bring a copy of the scriptures their child will recite from memory to the recital.

Parental Tips: 

1. Keep it age appropriate.
2. Make it part of your daily routine; tie memorization to something consistent like bedtime, breakfast, or car rides.
3. Use music and rhythm! Create a song together of scriptures and add movement.
4. Explain the scriptures and ask them, "What does this mean to you?"
5. Turn it into a game! Fill-in-the-blanks reward quizzes. Say it faster/slower.
6. Practice every day! Celebrate progress, not perfection.
7. Have fun!
